Howdy! ciel's here!
I’m from Syria unfortunately. For years, I was a medical student. But after looking honestly at the path ahead and realizing it would take until I was 45 or 50 just to start truly living, I chose not to pursue medicine and decided to build my own way forward instead.
But continuing the medical path meant staying in Syria which was dangerous, so I started planning how to get out. To find safety, a real future, and the space to live my life authentically, eventhough it meant that i have to start from 0. Today, I’m based in Malaysia, working to stay on my feet and re-build a foundation.
Alongside building web pages and working on Kindle book projects, a big part of what I do is running a server for a D&D community. What started as a passion project actually helped fund my way out of Syria, and it continues to fund my life here in Malaysia, though with steep visa and living costs, it’s not quite enough on its own.
Everything I do is driven by a very clear purpose: to keep myself afloat and to support my mother and sister who are still back home in Syria, with the hope that one day I’ll be able to help get them out too.
